نَهَضَ يَوْم الرِّدَّة بفهم واستيقاظ
He arose on the Day of Apostasy with understanding and alertness.
يَوْمَ — the day of. A time-noun 'day', used adverbially in the accusative ('-a'), and first term of an 'of' pairing — 'on the day of apostasy'. It owns the noun that follows; the accusative marks 'on that day'.

So Abu Sufyan said, "O Abbas, how excellent is the Day of Dhimar."
يَوْمُ — day. This noun 'day' is the leading half of the pairing 'the Day of Dhimar', the thing being exclaimed over. As the front noun of an 'X of Y' chain it carries no 'the', taking its definiteness from the name that follows.

And if your day comes while I am alive, I will give you strong, forceful support.
يَوْمُكَ — your day. A noun with 'your' attached as a suffix rather than a separate word; that fused -ka supplies the possessor. It is the subject of the conditional verb before it, 'your day' (the day of trial) being the thing that might overtake the speaker while he lives.

So when the Day of Resurrection comes, I will say to you.
يَوْمُ — day. A noun ('day') heading an 'of' pairing 'the Day OF Resurrection', taking the subject ending as the thing that 'arrives'. It drops its own 'al-' and takes definiteness from the noun that follows.
