How to say “Hudhayfah” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِحُذَيْفَةِ يَا حُذَيْفَةُ
A man said to Hudhayfah, "O Hudhayfah."
حُذَيْفَة — Hudhayfah. A proper name in direct address, the one hailed by the preceding 'O'. As the person called, it sits in the special address form the vocative imposes. It is the target of the summons, not the subject of any verb.
From: A Spy in the Enemy Camp →فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَا حُذَيْفَةُ
The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, "O Hudhayfah."
حُذَيْفَةُ — Hudhayfah. This is the personal name being called, taking the address (vocative) form right after the call-particle. Being singled out and addressed is what gives it its ending here. It identifies who the Messenger is speaking to.
