Arabic vocabulary
How to say “I gave” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَجَاءَتْنِي فَأَعْطَيْتُهَا عِشْرِينَ وَمِائَةَ دِينَارٍ
Then she came to me, so I gave her one hundred and twenty dinars.
فَأَعْطَيْتُهَا — so I gave her. A past-tense verb 'gave' with its 'I' subject in the ending, fronted by fa- and closing with an attached 'her' pronoun as the recipient. The fa- threads the step on, and the suffix marks her as the one given to, bundling connector, verb, subject and indirect object.
