How to say “I mounted” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ثُمَّ قَالَ اِرْكَبْ فَرَكِبْتُ،
Then he said, "Mount," so I mounted.
فَرَكِبْتُ — so I mounted. The fa- here shows the speaker's act as the direct response to the command ('and so'), giving a cause-then-effect feel. The verb is past tense with the -tu ending marking 'I', so it means 'so I mounted'.
