Arabic vocabulary
How to say “I see you” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
يَا وَلِيدٍ رَافِعِ اِسْمَعْ أَقَلِّ لَكَ أَرَاكَ وَاللَّهِ مَثَلِي مَزْجِي الْبِضَاعَةِ ،
O young man Rafi, listen. I tell you, by God, I see you mixing the merchandise like I do.
أَرَاكَ — I see you. A present-tense verb holding both ends of the action: the 'I' subject in its prefix and a tacked-on -ka 'you' as object, so 'I see you' lives in one word. Doer and done-to are both inside the verb, which English must spread across three words.
