How to say “I tell you” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
يَا وَلِيدٍ رَافِعِ اِسْمَعْ أَقَلِّ لَكَ أَرَاكَ وَاللَّهِ مَثَلِي مَزْجِي الْبِضَاعَةِ ،
O young man Rafi, listen. I tell you, by God, I see you mixing the merchandise like I do.
أَقَلِّ — I tell you. A present-tense verb with the 'I' subject built into its prefix, framing what the speaker is about to assert. It introduces the speaker's own statement to the addressee, the subject riding inside the verb with no separate pronoun.
