Arabic vocabulary
How to say “Rafi” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
يَا وَلِيدٍ رَافِعِ اِسْمَعْ أَقَلِّ لَكَ أَرَاكَ وَاللَّهِ مَثَلِي مَزْجِي الْبِضَاعَةِ ،
O young man Rafi, listen. I tell you, by God, I see you mixing the merchandise like I do.
رَافِعِ — Rafi. A proper name set right beside the previous called noun, renaming the same person, so the two refer to one addressee ('young man, Rafi'). This side-by-side renaming is apposition: a second label sharing the role of the first.
