Arabic vocabulary
How to say “I seized” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَوَثَبْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَأَخَذْتُ بِيَدِهِ مَخَافَةً أَنْ يَأْخُذَنِي
I leaped at him and seized his hand, fearing that he might take me.
فَأخذت — so I seized. The sequence-connector 'so' is fused to a past-tense verb whose ending marks 'I', chaining the next action onto the leap: 'and I seized'. The connector links the two quick moves as one sequence. The 'I' is built into the verb's tail.
