Arabic vocabulary
How to say “I settle” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
لَأَسْكُنُكَ فِي جِوَارِهِ لِتُطِيعَنِي وَتَعْصِيهِ
I will settle you in his vicinity so that you obey me and disobey him.
لَأَسْكُنُكَ — I will settle you. An oath-emphasis 'la-' fronts the verb, turning the statement into a firm vow ('I shall surely settle...'). The verb has its 'I' subject built in and '-ka' ('you') fused on as object, so the one word is a charged first-person pledge to settle the listener somewhere.
