Arabic vocabulary
How to say “you obey” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
لَأَسْكُنُكَ فِي جِوَارِهِ لِتُطِيعَنِي وَتَعْصِيهِ
I will settle you in his vicinity so that you obey me and disobey him.
لِتُطِيعَنِي — so that you obey me. The front 'li-' is a purpose marker ('so that'), and after it the verb shifts into its subjunctive shape to express aim rather than fact. The '-ni' ('me') fused on the end is the object, so the word states the goal: that you may obey me.
