Arabic vocabulary
How to say “I turn away” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأُؤْذِيها، وَأَصْرِفُ وَجْهِي عَنْهَا،
I mistreat her, and I turn my face away from her.
وَأَصْرِفُ — and I turn away. The front wa- adds a second admission, and the verb under it is a present-shape 'I turn away' with the 'I' subject built in. The present form keeps it habitual: this is what he routinely does. It leans on the body-part object and 'from her' that follow to complete the picture.
