Arabic vocabulary
How to say “in my hand” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَ مَا بِيَدِيِ مَا أَتَزَوَّجُ بِهِ،
He said, "I have nothing with which to get married."
بِيَدِيِ — in my hand. The preposition bi- ('in/with') fused to a noun ('hand') that itself carries the suffix '-i' ('my'), so 'in my hand' is one word. The phrase idiomatically means 'in my power/possession', and the bi- governs the noun in the genitive.
