Arabic vocabulary
How to say “is hostile to” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَيُوَالِي أَوْلِيَاءَهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الْمُتَّقِينَ وََيُعَادِي أَعْدَاءَهُ
He befriends his allies, the believers and the God-fearing, and he is hostile to his enemies.
وَيُعَادِي — and is hostile to. The connecting 'and' fused to a present-tense verb 'is hostile to/opposes', the counterpart of 'befriends'. The 'and' coordinates the two opposite habits, and the verb carries its own 'he' subject.
