فَلَمَّا جَاءَ الإِسْلاَمُ وَذَكَرَهُنَّ اللَّهُ،
Then when Islam came and God mentioned them,
الإِسْلاَمُ — Islam. The delayed doer of 'came', carrying its plain subject ending; as a proper concept-name it stays definite without 'al-'. Its ending is the audible mark that it is the one who did the coming.
