Arabic vocabulary
How to say “leave us” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ دَعْنَا عَنْكَ يَا أُمَيَّةُ،
Sa'd said, 'Leave us alone, O Umayya.'
دَعْنَا — leave us. A command form (imperative) with attached -na 'us' as object — 'leave us'. The 'you' is inside the command itself, and the suffix supplies the object, so the whole order sits in one word.
