رَسُوْلَ — Messenger. A noun in its direct-address form, here the first half of an 'of' pairing with the divine name that follows, so the two together are the address 'Messenger of God'. After the call-particle, the addressed noun takes the special vocative shape, and it opens the possessive pair with the name. Its role is to name who is being called while linking to its owner.
From: A Mother's Forgiveness →فَقُلْتُ اِشْرَبْ يَا رَسُوْلَ اللَّهِ ـ قَالَ ـ فَشَرِبَ،

رَسُوْلَ — Messenger. The noun being addressed and the first half of an 'of' pairing ('Messenger of God') joined straight to the divine name after it. Under the call-particle it takes an address ending. There is no separate word for 'of' between the linked nouns.
