How to say “mount” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَالصَّبْرُ لَهَا بِمَنْزِلَةٍ الْخِطَامِ وَالزِّمَامِ لِلْمَطِيَّةِ
And patience for it is like the bit and the rein for the mount.
لِلْمَطِيَّةِ — for the mount. The li- prefix marks what the tack belongs to ('for'), governing a definite noun ('the mount') into the genitive. It rounds off the simile: a bridle and rein for the mount.
