How to say “night” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَإِنَّمَا يَصِحُّ لَهُ التَّلَصُّصُ فِي لَيْلِ الْجَهْلِ
And it is only justified for him to spy in the night of ignorance.
لَيْلِ — night. The head of a possessive pairing, 'the night of ignorance', in the genitive shape set by the preposition and linked straight to the noun after it. As the first half it drops its own 'the' and takes definiteness from the owner.
