Arabic vocabulary
التَّلَصُّصُ is how you say “the spying” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
وَإِنَّمَا يَصِحُّ لَهُ التَّلَصُّصُ فِي لَيْلِ الْجَهْلِ
And it is only justified for him to spy in the night of ignorance.
الْتَلَصُّصُ — the spying. A verbal noun, the name of an action used as a noun, made definite by 'al-' and standing as the real subject of 'is justified'. Arabic readily turns a whole action into a single noun this way.
