بَلْ أَمْرُهُمْ كَانَ بِالضِّدِّ مِنْ أَمْرِ الرَّسُولِ، كَفِرْعَوْنَ وَنَمْرُودَ وَأَضْرَابِهِمَا
Rather, their matter was the opposite of that of the Messenger’s, like Pharaoh, Nimrod, and their like.
وَنَمْرُودَ — and Nimrod. The wa- adds a second example, a proper name, 'and Nimrod', coordinated with Pharaoh under the same comparison. It continues the list of those whose case parallels the oppressive kings.
