How to say “noon” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَمِنَ الْغَدِ حَتَّى قَامَ قَائِمُ الظَّهِيرَةِ،
And from the morning until the noon watchman stood up,
الظَّهِيرَةِ — the noon. The second half of the 'of' pairing with the doer-noun before it, so it takes the 'of'-style ending; its fused 'al-' (the) makes it definite. Together they name the midday point. The link between the two nouns is built by adjacency, with no word for 'of'.
