Arabic vocabulary
How to say “one of them” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَتَجِدُ أَحَدُهُمْ يَسْأَلُ عَنْ الْأَمْرِ الصَّغِيرِ وَالْكَبِيرِ،
So you find one of them asking about small and large matters.
أَحَدُهُمْ — one of them. A counting word 'one' with -hum ('of them') attached — 'one of them'. It is the thing observed, the object of 'you find', and the -hum points back to the Companions. The phrase singles out a single member of that group to illustrate their eagerness to ask.
