How to say “palace” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَكَمْ شَاهَدْتُ وَالْ قَصْرَ وَلِيُّهُ عَدُوُّهُ لَمَّا عُزِلَ
How often have I seen the governor of a palace whose ally became his enemy when he was dismissed!
قَصْرَ — palace. A noun naming a palace, the owned half of 'governor of a palace'. That owner role puts it in the 'of...' ending, binding it to 'governor' before it. So it names the seat of power the governor held, the stage for his sudden fall.
