فَقَالَ لَهُ الرُّكْنُ أَيْنَ أَنْتَ مِنْ اِبْنِ الْجَوْزِيِ؟
The Pillar said to him, "Where do you stand regarding the son of al-Jawzi?"
الرُّكْنُ — the Pillar. A definite noun 'the Pillar', a title/nickname standing as the subject (speaker) and placed after the verb in Arabic's normal verb-first order. Its 'the' marks the specific man so dubbed.
