Arabic vocabulary
لَعَبِي is how you say “play” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
فمن المختارين يوسف النبي صاح الهوى يا زليخا راودي والعبي،
Among the chosen is the prophet Joseph. Desire called out, 'O Zuleikha, entice and play!'
وَٱلْعَبِي — and the play. This joins wa- to a second feminine command addressed to the same woman, the -i again marking an order to a female. The coordinating wa- pairs the two imperatives so they land as one breath of instruction.
