Arabic vocabulary
صَلَى is how you say “punish” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
فمن زعم أنه قول البشر فقد كفر وسيصليه الله سقر
So whoever claims that it is the speech of a human has disbelieved, and Allah will punish him in Hell.
وَسَيُصْلِيهِ — and will punish him in. Several pieces in one word: an 'and', a future prefix 'will', the verb 'roast/cause to burn', and a 'him' object. The future prefix is Arabic's way of marking time to come; the object pronoun is hung on the verb's end. So it means 'and He will burn him'.
