How to say “reading” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَيَنْتَزِعُ الاِثْنَانِ مِنْهُمْ أَوْ الثَّلاَثَةُ آيَةً مِنَ الْقِرَاءَةِ،
Then two or three of them step forward to take a verse for recitation.
الْقِرَاءَةِ — the recitation. A definite verbal noun 'the recitation' (the noun naming the act of reciting), in the genitive because the 'from' before it governs it. The al- makes it definite. It names the larger reading that the single verse is extracted from.
