فَيَنْتَزِعُ الاِثْنَانِ مِنْهُمْ أَوْ الثَّلاَثَةُ آيَةً مِنَ الْقِرَاءَةِ،
Then two or three of them step forward to take a verse for recitation.
الاِثْنَانِ — the two. A dual numeral 'the two', Arabic's dedicated 'exactly two' form folded into the word's ending rather than added as a separate 'two'. It is the subject of the verb, in the subject-style dual ending. The count is carried by the word's shape itself.
