Arabic vocabulary
How to say “ready” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَإِنْ بَاغَتْهُ الْمَوْتُ، يُرَى مُسْتَعِدًّا،
If death suddenly overtakes him, he will be found ready.
مستعدًّا — ready. An adjective in the object (accusative) form, used here as the state the man is found in after the perception-style passive verb. Arabic puts such a descriptor in the accusative to name the condition something is observed to be in, so it pins 'ready' onto him as how he is discovered.
