How to say “recited” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
أَنشَدَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ التَّمِيمِيُّ قَاضِيُ الْمَدِينَةِ
Muhammad ibn Imran al-Tamimi, the judge of the city, recited.
أَنْشَدْتُ — I recited. A past-tense verb opening the report of who recited the verse, with the doer built into its shape. It introduces the subject named right after, so it sets up 'so-and-so recited' as the frame for the lines that follow.
