How to say “Muhammad” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
كَقَوْل الْمُؤَذّن الله أكبر الله أكبر أشهد أَن لَا إِلَه إِلَّا الله أشهد أَن مُحَمَّدًا رَسُول الله
As the caller to prayer says: (Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, I testify that there is no deity but Allah, I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah).
مُحَمَّدًا — Muhammad. 'Muhammad', accusative because 'anna' grabs its subject into that case — 'that Muhammad [is]...'. The ending here is driven by 'anna'.

Muhammad bin Al-Abbas bin Ayyub narrated to us,
مُحَمَّدُ — Muhammad. A man's given name serving as the subject who narrates. Proper names are inherently definite, so it needs no 'the', and it anchors the run of father-and-grandfather names that trail after it.

مُحَمَّدٍ — Muhammad. A proper name, 'Muhammad', standing in apposition to 'our Prophet', renaming the same person. It shares that word's (genitive) form, since the two refer to one and the same.

مُحَمَّدُ — Muhammad. A proper name standing as the subject of the verb, in the plain subject ending. It names the second figure who uttered the saying, sharpening the 'he' already inside the verb. It is the doer of this clause.

مُحَمَّدًا — Muhammad. A proper name standing as the topic of the asserted clause. Because the strong 'that' particle precedes it, the name takes the object-style (accusative) ending even though it is the one being talked about — a quirk of that particle.

مُحَمَّدُ — Muhammad. The addressee being called, in the special form that follows the call-particle; naming him directly opens the command. The final mark is the address-form ending.
