فَأَخْرَجَتْ أَقْرَاصًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ، ثُمَّ أَخْرَجَتْ خِمَارًا لَهَا
She brought out rounds of barley bread, then she brought out a headscarf for herself.
أَقْرَاصًا — round cakes. The food she brought -- round loaves -- object of the verb, its -an tail marking it an indefinite object. The word is an irregular ('broken') plural whose shape, not a tidy ending, carries the 'more than one' sense.
