Arabic vocabulary
How to say “scratch” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَإِن سَقَطت على شَيْء لم تكسره وَلم تخدشه
And if it lands on something, it does not break it or scratch it.
تَخْدِشْهُ — scratch it. Again the jussive after 'lam', the bee its subject and '-hu' the object 'it'. The pair completes the picture: it neither breaks nor so much as scratches what it touches, the model of harmlessness.
