How to say “seize” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَاِنْتَزَعَ الْوَزِيرُ مَدْرَسَةَ جَدِّهِ وَسَلَّمَهَا إِلَى اِبْنِ الْجَوْزِيِّ،
The minister seized his grandfather's school and handed it over to Ibn al-Jawzi,
وَاِنْتَزَعَ — and seized. This joins a linking 'and' to a derived-pattern past verb 'seized/wrested away', whose built-up shape carries a 'forcibly take from' sense. The verb carries its own subject-slot for the noun named next, and the 'and' chains the action on.
