Arabic vocabulary
How to say “sermon” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ثُمَّ خَطَبَهُمْ فَقَالَ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ
Then he addressed them and said in his sermon.
خُطْبَتِهِ — his sermon. A noun 'sermon' with a tail pronoun 'his' welded on, so 'his sermon' is one word, and the attached 'his' points back to the speaker. Following the preposition, it takes the post-preposition case. The possessor rides as an ending rather than a separate word.
