How to say “shame” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
مِنْ غَرَامٍ تَكْتَسِي فِيهِ ثَوْبَ ذُلٍّ وَشَيْنٍ
Infatuation can clothe a person in a garment of abasement and shame.
وَشَيْنٍ — and shame. The leading wa- ('and') adds 'shame' to 'abasement' as a second thing the garment is woven from, both owned by 'garment' in the same possessive chain. The noun is indefinite, keeping it general. So the two together fill out the robe of disgrace.
