Arabic vocabulary
How to say “abasement” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
مِنْ غَرَامٍ تَكْتَسِي فِيهِ ثَوْبَ ذُلٍّ وَشَيْنٍ
Infatuation can clothe a person in a garment of abasement and shame.
ذُلٍّ — abasement. An indefinite noun, no 'the', naming abasement, the owned half of 'a garment of abasement'. That owner role puts it in the 'of...' ending. So it specifies what the metaphorical garment is made of: lowliness and disgrace draped over the infatuated person.
