How to say “clothes” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
مِنْ غَرَامٍ تَكْتَسِي فِيهِ ثَوْبَ ذُلٍّ وَشَيْنٍ
Infatuation can clothe a person in a garment of abasement and shame.
تَكْتَسِي — clothes. A present-tense verb carrying a built-in 'she/it' subject, agreeing with the feminine 'infatuation', built on a reflexive pattern, 'clothes (a person) in'. Its present shape gives a timeless 'can clothe'. So it pictures the passion robing its victim in disgrace.
