Arabic vocabulary
How to say “she turned away from” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَعْرَضَتْ عَنْ جَمِيعِ شَهْوَاتِهَا،
And she turned away from all her desires,
وَأَعْرَضَتْ — and she turned away from. The front wa- continues the list of sacrifices, and the verb under it is a completed-action 'turned away' with the -t ending marking a female subject. So the word says 'and she turned away', the feminine doer folded in. It then leans on the 'from' that follows to name what she renounced.
