Arabic vocabulary
How to say “sick” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وقال يداوى كل عليل بعقاقير أرضه
And he said, 'Treat every sick person with the herbs of their land.'
عَلِيلٍ — sick person. This is the owner in 'every sick person', in the genitive after 'every', and left indefinite so it means any sick person at all. The indefiniteness keeps the rule general.
