Arabic vocabulary
How to say “similar” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
﴿قُلْ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِمْ﴾، وَنَظَائِرُهُ
'Say to the believers to lower their gaze', and similar passages.
وَنَظَائِرُهُ — and similar passages. An 'and' joins to a noun meaning 'likes/equivalents', which then carries an 'it' ending referring back to the cited verses. Together the one word means 'and its like', signalling that further similar passages exist; the possessor is fused on rather than written separately.
