How to say “sins” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَفِيهِمْ مَنْ يُبَارِزُ بِالذُّنُوبِ الْعَظِيمَةِ، مَعَ نَوْعِ مَعْرِفَةِ الْمَنَاهِيِ
Among them are those who brazenly commit grave sins while having only a limited knowledge of the prohibitions.
بِالذُّنُوبِ — with the sins. The 'bi-' fused at the front is a linking preposition tying the act of brazen confrontation to its object; with this verb it marks what the sinning is carried out 'with'. It governs the definite plural after it into the 'of'-style ending, naming the grave sins as the instrument of their defiance.
