Arabic vocabulary
How to say “sins” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَمَتَى رَأَيْتَ مُعَاقِبًا؛ فَاعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ لِذُنُوبٍ
So when you see someone being punished, know that it is because of sins.
لِذُنُوبٍ — because of sins. The 'li-' at the front is causal, 'because of / on account of', and it governs the noun after it into the 'of'-style ending. Left indefinite, that noun means 'sins' in general. So the bundle delivers the lesson: whatever punishment you see traces back to sins.
