How to say “small gatherings” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَيُصْبِحُ مَعَ قُرَيْشٍ بِمَكَّةَ كَبَائِتٍ،
So he would spend the morning in Mecca with the Quraysh, sitting together in small gatherings.
كَبَائِتٍ — small gatherings. The ka- on the front is the 'like / as' comparison particle: it likens his sitting to that of people gathered in small clusters, and it puts the noun it leans on into the 'of' ending. So the word frames HOW he spends the morning rather than naming a thing.
