How to say “small group” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
عرضت علي الأمم، فرأيت النبي ومعه الرهيط،
The nations were presented to me, and I saw a prophet with a small group with him,
ٱلرَّهِيطُ — a small group. This is the delayed subject of that 'with him [was]...' clause — 'a small band / handful', in the nominative. So the whole tail is circumstantial: 'while a tiny following was with him'. Arabic lets the subject of such a clause come last, after the fronted 'with him'.
