Arabic vocabulary
How to say “presented” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
عرضت علي الأمم، فرأيت النبي ومعه الرهيط،
The nations were presented to me, and I saw a prophet with a small group with him,
عُرِضَتْ — were presented. This is a passive verb 'were shown / displayed' — the nations RECEIVE the action of being paraded before the speaker. It is feminine-singular because its subject 'the nations' is a non-human plural, which Arabic treats as a feminine-singular group. The passive is marked inside the verb's vowels.
