How to say “sound” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
سكينةٌ تفتح بابًا للمعنى قبل أن يطرقَه الصوت
A calmness that opens a door to meaning before sound knocks on it.
الصَّوْتُ — the sound. 'the sound / voice,' the subject of 'knocks' (the -u), held back after its verb. Sound is the late-comer here — meaning enters through stillness before the voice arrives. A fitting close to the praise of silence.
