وَالْثَّانِيُ أَنَّ حَالَةً سَمَاعِ الْمَوَاعِظِ يَكُونُ الإِنْسَانُ فِيهَا مَزَاحَ الْعِلَّةِ،

حَالَةً — a state. This noun is the subject of the 'that' clause and takes the object-shaped subject ending the particle governs. It heads an 'of' pairing with 'listening' that follows.
