Arabic vocabulary
How to say “steeds” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
أَيْنَ أَحْلَاسُ الْخَيْلِ أَيْنَ الْفُرْسَانُ فَيُقَدِّمُونَكُمْ
Where are the steeds of the horses? Where are the horsemen? Then they will bring you forward.
أَحْلَاسُ — steeds. This plural noun heads an 'X of Y' pair completed by the next word, so it owns 'the horses', and it serves as the subject of the 'where are...' question. The following genitive noun says what they belong to. Its place ahead of that noun starts the possessive chain.
