How to say “strip” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
خَلَعْوُا نُصُوصَ الْوَحْيِ عَنْ سُلْطَانِ الْحَقِيقَةِ،
They stripped the revelatory texts of the authority of truth,
خَلَعُوا — they stripped. A past-tense verb with the -u ending that means 'they' (a masculine human plural), so the subject is carried inside the verb with no separate pronoun. It opens the sentence as a bare statement of completed action; the doers are left general, 'they', identified only by that ending.
